Accessibility Statement
Last updated 18 July 2026
Recovr exists to get people out of trouble at the roadside, and that has to include disabled people, on equal terms. This statement says what we do to make the app and our documents accessible, what we know is not right yet, and how to get help or the same information in another format. It reflects our duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments, and we treat that duty as anticipatory: our job is to remove barriers before you hit them, not after.
The standard we work to
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA as our benchmark, and we take account of EN 301 549 (the European standard for accessible digital services) and ISO 30071-1 in how we design and test. Private apps are not covered by the public-sector accessibility regulations, but the Equality Act 2010 applies to us in full, and WCAG 2.2 AA is the standard we hold ourselves to when deciding what "reasonable adjustments" means in practice.
What works today
- TEXT SIZE: Settings → Preferences → Text size makes every screen's text larger, app-wide.
- SCREEN READERS: the app's controls, including booking, cancellation and the legal documents, carry labels for VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android), and important countdowns (like the free-cancellation window) are announced, not just displayed.
- PLAIN-ENGLISH SUMMARIES: every legal document opens with "The short version", a set of short, plain sentences covering the points that matter, before any legal wording.
- MONEY IS ALWAYS SHOWN: every price and every possible fee is shown on screen, in figures, before you commit to anything - nothing depends on reading small print.
- COLOUR AND CONTRAST: our palette is designed to meet WCAG AA contrast on text, and we do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
- TOUCH TARGETS: interactive controls are sized for reliable use (44 points or larger).
What we know is not right yet
Some older screens have not yet had a full screen-reader pass, and some images in the app do not yet have useful descriptions. We are working through these, and this statement will be updated as they are fixed. If any screen blocks you, contact us (below) and we will get you what you need another way while we fix it.
Other formats, on request
You can ask for this statement, any of our policies, your booking confirmation, a receipt, or any letter we send you in another format - large print, easy read, plain text for a screen reader, or read to you over the phone. Email recovr@webmastersldn.com with what you need and we will provide it free of charge, normally within 5 working days.
Telling us about a problem
If any part of Recovr is hard for you to use, email recovr@webmastersldn.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line, or use Help → Report an issue in the app. We acknowledge within 2 working days, we fix what we can quickly, and we tell you the outcome. If you are not happy with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (equalityadvisoryservice.com, 0808 800 0082) advises on the Equality Act 2010 and can help you take a complaint further.
